Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Police then found numerous other marked automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police report early analysis indicate the substance was likely blood from a person.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; investigators are not yet informed of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the public for tips.
A senior official commented the vandalism left him without words and required to be solved quickly.
"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the death of nine people by a assailant targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
